PESC provided structural engineering services for a variety of new solar panel arrays installed in various locations throughout Texas.  As part of our services, we carefully review and evaluate proposed array framing and all applicable manufacturers’ recommendations. We calculate appropriate code-level wind loads applied to the specific system and run analyses as necessary to verify structural adequacy and code compliance.  Depending on the array system, we may also determine how much ballast is required to prevent system uplift and/or sliding.  In addition, we may also analyze the existing building structure to confirm its ability to support new roof loads. These projects have proven very diverse and very interesting, and we look forward to further expanding our expertise in this unique and rapidly growing industry.
