P.E. Structural Consultants, Inc. provided full structural engineering services for the design of a 47,000sf one-story building structure, which includes space for a cafeteria, gymnasium, administration offices, and two classroom wings. The foundation system is a floating slab-on-grade with drilled piers below concentrated column loads. Roof framing is comprised of conventional steel framing with sloping open-web steel joists and metal deck. Lateral support for stability and wind resistance is provided by reinforced masonry shear walls. The roof framing and CMU walls define a curved plan geometry and will accommodate future expansion.
