PESC provides structural engineering consulting services to the Austin Independent School District (AISD) on an as-needed basis, including structural investigation and evaluations, structural engineering analysis and design, retrofit drawing preparation, and construction administration. Sample task assignments are:

Structural investigation of a precast double-tee parking structure: PESC provided an in-depth report that documented our observations and provided general recommendations for corrective action where appropriate.  In a second phase, PESC developed complete repair details and specifications.

Observed and measured existing wood trusses supporting the third floor of an administrative building slated for adaptive re-use as a file storage area.  PESC evaluated the existing structure’s capability to support new heavy filing systems and made recommendations as to which floor areas could sustain the additional loads. 

Site visit to observe a failing concrete corbel; developed three potential retrofit solutions; based on the client’s preferred option, prepared retrofit details and a step-by-step repair procedure.
