  • Cast-in-place Retaining Wall Abutments

P.E. Structural Consultants, Inc. provided structural engineering services for a 60ft-span prestressed concrete box beam bridge to extend Barton Skyway across Bouldin Creek, providing access to a new residential development.  The bridge is 40ft wide with a 30 degree skew.  There is a 5ft wide raised sidewalk on each side of the bridge.  The abutments entail drilled shaft foundations, founded wingwalls, and wrap-around retaining walls to support aesthetic masonry veneer.

Bridge design utilized TxDOT standard 5ft wide x 20in deep box beams topped with a 5in cast-on-place concrete slab.  Design conforms to AASHTO LRFD Specifications and TxDOT typical practice.  P.E. Structural Consultants, Inc. provided both structural design and construction administration services for the bridge structure.  Completed 2008.
